My husband and I recently bought our first house. My husband is active duty military so I do not need to be a resident for the resident rate for property tax purchases. Since my name is in the mortgage documents we are unable to take advantage of it. I do not want to be a resident of another state because of tax reasons (We are residents of Idaho for fiscal-no state income tax out of state military residents). Wondered what it was taken with my mortgage to save around 1200 + dollars a year? How much?

My mom owns the house, mortgage is in her name but I have power of attorney. She is going into an assisted living facility, can the deed on the house be put in my name?
